Questions and answers
Does the AI Act apply to private bodies that deliver public services?
Yes. If the AI assesses whether citizens are entitled to public services, it's high-risk, and private bodies providing public services must carry out a FRIA (Article 27).
Can the AI refuse an application?
No, not on its own. A caseworker must decide, and the citizen has the right to reasons and to have the case reviewed.
What is social scoring?
Scoring people on their behaviour or personality in a way that leads to worse treatment in other contexts, or treatment out of all proportion. It's prohibited.
