Questions and answers
Can a club use AI on its member list?
Yes, for purposes that fit what members signed up for. Use a business plan with a data processing agreement (DPA), and don't send names or contact details to the AI.
Is trade union membership sensitive?
Yes. It's special category data under Article 9 GDPR. Unions may process it about their own members, but it needs extra protection – including from AI services outside the EU.
Can the AI expel members who don't pay?
No. The AI can find the arrears and suggest a solution, but the committee must decide under the club rules.
