Upload documents: CVs, HR cases, contracts and customer enquiries
Short answer
Open "Upload data" and pick one or more PDF or Word (.docx) files with "Choose files". GoalCube guesses what the documents are – CVs, HR cases, contracts, customer enquiries or other – and you correct it if it is wrong. GoalCube reads the text on its server in the EU, suggests the name of the person or company, which you can correct, and shows what the AI sees when you press "Show". The files themselves are not stored. Scanned documents without text and old .doc files cannot be read.

How to do it
- Open Upload data, and press Choose files (or drag the files in). Choose PDF or .docx files.
- Check the type under What are the documents?. GoalCube has guessed; correct it if it is wrong. The type decides how the documents are protected, and whether a person has to decide.
- Check the name GoalCube suggests for each document, and press Show to see the text as the AI sees it.
- Look at the yellow words under "Words that can point to a person", and choose for each word: keep, make broader or hide.
- Save the dataset.
Yellow words and cities
In documents, cities become a region, and words that can point to a person – e.g. about health, trade union membership, "only" or a top position – are marked in yellow. Words about health, trade union membership, religion, politics and criminal convictions become [personal matter] by default. The choices apply to all the documents in the dataset. The marking works on text in Danish, English, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Finnish and Polish, and the placeholder is in the dataset's language. It can miss things. See Upload a table.
What is not protected automatically?
Company names in CVs and marital status are not hidden automatically. Add important company names to your list of secret words. In contracts, customer enquiries and "other", company names with a company-type suffix (e.g. Ltd, GmbH and A/S) are hidden automatically.
Scanned documents
GoalCube does not read text in images. Save the document as a PDF with text, or as Word. See Error messages.
