AI use without a record (shadow AI)
Short answer
If the AI fetches a dataset that no recorded use covers, GoalCube logs it – at most once a day per dataset – and it appears under "Review" on Tasks. Tidy up by recording the use. With the recommendation "The AI only gets data once the use has been recorded and confirmed" switched on, the AI gets no data at all until the use is recorded.
How to tidy up
- Open Tasks. Under "Review" it says "AI was used on … without being recorded", with the name of the dataset.
- Press Record. The entry opens with the dataset chosen.
- Fill it in and confirm. See Record a use of AI.
Avoid it altogether
The recommendation "The AI only gets data once the use has been recorded and confirmed" is switched on from the start in the rule library. GoalCube then holds data back until the use is recorded, and the AI records it itself. See The AI gets no data.
