How GoalCube works inside your AI
Short answer
GoalCube is added as a connector (MCP) in your AI. When an employee asks the AI to do something on your data, the AI fetches the dataset from GoalCube and gets pseudonyms like [PERSON_1] instead of names and numbers. The AI writes its answer with the pseudonyms and saves it at GoalCube, where the real names are put back in. The key never leaves GoalCube's servers in the EU.
Four steps, every time the AI uses your data
- The employee writes a task to their AI, for example "Find the contracts that need renegotiating".
- The AI fetches data from GoalCube. The use is checked against the AI inventory. If it is approved, the AI gets the dataset – with pseudonyms instead of names, emails, ID numbers, account numbers and your secret words.
- The AI solves the task with the pseudonyms and saves the result at GoalCube.
- The employee opens the answer at GoalCube, where the real names are put back in. Only you can see them.
Here you see it with sample data: on the left what is stored at GoalCube in the EU, on the right what the AI sees.

See it in GoalCube
At the bottom of the menu in GoalCube you find How GoalCube works. The page shows the same thing in 30 seconds: a customer enquiry as you see it, as the AI sees it, and the answer with the names put back in at GoalCube. It uses GoalCube's fictitious sample data, and nothing is saved or sent to an AI. If you have the free AI use plan, you can try it from there with your own AI. See Plans: free and paid.
First time: log in and give access
The first time, you log in at GoalCube with your passkey and give the AI access. The connection belongs to you and your company. The AI can use GoalCube's tools for the whole company, but only gets pseudonyms. Decisions and confirmations still only happen at GoalCube. You can always see and disconnect the connection, see See and disconnect AI connections.
What the AI does not get
- the key to the pseudonyms (it stays with GoalCube)
- your secret words
- access to confirm or decide anything – that only happens on GoalCube's own pages
In the columns you protect, the AI never sees the real values. In free text, names and numbers are found using lists and patterns, so a detail can occasionally slip through. See What does the AI see?.
Why decisions are not made in the chat
The window in the chat shows status, but decisions and confirmations are always made on GoalCube's own page. That way you can prove it was a person – and not the AI – who pressed the button. See The window in the chat.
