Adjust the protection per column

For: The person in charge, The employeeTakes 3 minLast updated

Short answer

When you upload a table, GoalCube suggests how to handle each column. You can change it under "Adjust the protection": names, numbers and addresses become pseudonyms, date of birth becomes an age group, city becomes a region, a number or date becomes a range (e.g. 3–5 years), free text has names and numbers replaced, "Keep" sends the value unchanged and "Leave out" does not send it at all. The "What the AI sees" column shows the result.

How to choose

  • Is the value sensitive, but the AI still needs to tell the rows apart? Use a pseudonym.
  • Does the AI need a rough picture? Age group or region.
  • Is it a number or date about the person, e.g. length of service, experience or employed since? Use "Number or date → range". The AI gets, say, "3–5 years" instead of "4" or "1 March 2022". GoalCube suggests this itself for columns such as length of service and experience.
  • Is it free text? Use "Free text": names, numbers and your secret words are replaced, cities become a region, and words that can point to a person are marked in yellow so you can choose. See Upload a table.
  • Is the value not sensitive, e.g. an amount or a category? Keep it.
  • Does the AI not need it? Leave it out. That is the safest option.

The ID column

One column must identify each row, e.g. the customer's name or customer number. It always becomes a pseudonym and is what the AI uses when it mentions a row.
